The head of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Cabinet of Representatives, Valery Kavaleuski, held an online meeting with British parliamentarians. They discussed British policy towards Belarus. Mr. Kavaleuski spoke about the general situation in our country and the regime’s attack on independent media, including the largest news portal TUT.by.
During the meeting, the following was discussed:
– options for extending British sanctions against the Lukashenka regime;
– the organization of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s visit to the United Kingdom;
– inclusion of the crisis in Belarus in the agenda of the G7 Summit to be held in London in June;
– the Comprehensive EU Assistance Plan for Belarus developed with the participation of Ms. Tsikhanouskaya’s team;
– holding the Conference on Elections by the Tsikhanouskaya team;
– entry of Belarus to the Council of Europe;
– details of electoral and constitutional reforms.
The meeting was attended by Lord Blencathra, Lord Bowness, Baroness Stern, Lord Balfe, Lord German, Lord Russell of Liverpool, Shadow Foreign Minister Catherine West, members of the House of Commons Maria Miller, and Tony Lloyd (chairman of APPG). The Ambassador of Belarus in London did not respond to the invitation to participate.
