The United Nations is the world's key international organization and the one place where all the world’s nations can gather together. The UN has a General Assembly with all member countries represented. States' foreign ministers, heads of government or even heads of state gather once a year for the General Debate. During this high-level week, nations exchange views on current events and set the agenda for the UN's future work.
It is of paramount important that Belarusian society is represented at the UN not by Lukashenka's Foreign Ministry, but by the democratic forces. During Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's visit to the UN, she will be able to meet with world leaders and share with them the real picture of what is happening in Belarus.
