Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya attended the ceremony where Nobel laureates from Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia were awarded their gold medals. Ales Bialiatski’s wife Natallia Pinchuk received his award.
Right after the ceremony, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya gave a speech at the Torchlight procession, calling for bold and decisive actions and said that freedom is never just a given and must be fought for.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya attended the Nobel Banquet, where the royal family, Nobel laureates, the Norwegian leadership and guest delegations were present. She congratulated Natallia Pinchuk and all 20 the human rights defenders who came as part of the delegation and also took part in the ceremonial events.

Ms. Tsikhanouskaya congratulated Ales Bialiatski at the City Hall, where the Prize was awarded. She spoke at a series of discussions about the importance of the Nobel Prize and emphasized her hope that the Prize would draw attention to Belarus and facilitate the release of political prisoners greatly.
Today, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will take part in the opening of an exhibition telling the stories of Ales Bialiatski and other laureates, as well as in the Nobel event to be held this evening.
