Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, joined by her Diplomatic Advisor, Dzianis Kuchynski, and Advisor for the Constitutional Reform and Interparliamentary Cooperation, Anatoli Liabedzka, held a meeting with the group “For a Democratic Belarus” in the Parliament of Moldova.
Moldovan MPs joined the Belarusian side for a campaign in support of the Belarusian political prisoners and signed postcards for them. The group members also pledged to join the Solidarity Day on November 12 and rally in front of the Belarusian Embassy in Chișinău with portraits of political prisoners.
“Our Moldovan friends are particularly concerned about the Belarusians who are now imprisoned. After all, they know well what a Soviet prison is like. They assured us: “There was not a single family in Moldova that did not follow the events in Belarus”, commented Anatoli Liabedzka.
During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in international parliamentary organizations, holding joint events, countering Russian propaganda, as well as working with the Belarusian diaspora in Moldova.
The Chairwoman of the group “For a Democratic Belarus”, Maryna Morozova, said she would transfer the leadership to MP Vitali Gavrouc.
“Belarusian-Moldovan politician Vitali Gavrouc told us: “I have two presidents – Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Maia Sandu”. He shared that he has two citizenships – Belarusian and Moldovan – and asked for a New Belarus passport, which will allow him to be a citizen of free Belarus, not of Lukashenka's regime”, commented Dzianis Kuchynski, Diplomatic Advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
