With the Foreign Minister, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya discussed assistance to Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine, visa support for Belarusians, investigation of Lukashenka's crimes in international courts, and freezing of Italian and European assets owned by the regime’s henchmen. The minister emphasized the deportation of Ukrainian children to Belarus and the need for an urgent response. Mr. Tajani and Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also discussed support for Belarusian writers, musicians, cultural figures, researchers, and students.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya also spoke in the lower house of Parliament, which considered recognizing the Lukashenka regime as a sponsor of terrorism, as well as discussed the illegal deployment of nuclear weapons, Russian military bases, and the Wagner Group on Belarusian territory. Plans are underway to organize visits by group members to Warsaw and Vilnius to meet with representatives of the Belarusian civil society, families of the repressed, and former political prisoners.
