    September 28, 2023

    On September 25-27, Anatoli Liabiedzka, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor for the Constitutional Reform and Interparliamentary Cooperation, paid a working visit to Krakow.

    Anatoli Liabedzka met with the Chairman of the Foreign and European Union Affairs Committee of the Polish Senate, Bogdan Klich, who has been a longtime friend of democratic Belarus, and Belarusian politician and economist Yaraslau Ramanchuk. The parties agreed to cooperate to:

    – create a “Friends of Belarus” parliamentary group in the local government of Krakow;

    – organize internships for young Belarusians;

    – prepare draft laws for the new Belarus.

    “Groups focusing on Belarus in local self-government can help people who have fled repression in the country resolve their issues regarding the legalization of stay, finding a job, and joining the local Belarusian communities”, commented Mr. Liabedzka.

    He also participated in the roundtable discussion “Belarus' accession to the EU: dream or reality. Political and economic component of the issue” with representatives of the Belarusian diaspora in Krakow. The Advisor for the Constitutional Reform and Interparliamentary Cooperation noted that the participants formulated concrete proposals to solve the problems of the Belarusians of Krakow.
