A rally marking the anniversary of the 2020 protests in Belarus was held in Vilnius. Belarusians and friends of Belarus gathered in Cathedral Square to remember the events of 2020 and remind everyone that Belarus and its people continue to choose freedom.
After the rally, participants marched through the city center to the Embassy of Belarus.
Dzianis Kuchynski, as the Director of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office in Vilnius, addressed the rally:
“What we thought would be a sprint in 2020 turned out to be a marathon. I will never say that it will be easy. It takes hard work, sweat, and tears. But we must remember our political prisoners, our heroes, and the people who quietly continue the struggle inside Belarus, without microphones or stages.
I am confident that together, we can see this work through. Thank you to each and every one of you for your big and small acts of solidarity and support. Even coming here today is a choice. Thank you for the choice you made in 2020 and for the choice you are making today. Long Live Belarus! Ačiū Lietuvai!”
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Non-Staff Advisor on Environment, Dzmitry Kuchuk, also took part in the rally.
The event was organized by the Dapamoga NGO.
