The Belarusian leader thanked Minister João Cravinho for his participation in the side event during the NATO Summit and support for the Belarusian issue in international organizations. During the meeting, they discussed the situation with the placement of nuclear weapons and Wagner PMC mercenaries in Belarus, threats to Belarus’ independence, and the European Union's strategy on Belarus.
Special attention was given to sanctions. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya emphasized the unacceptability of softening sanctions on potassium exports amidst intensifying repression against the Belarusian people and increasing Russian presence in Belarus. Mr. Cravinho and Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also discussed the Black Sea Grain Initiative and its implications for Belarus.
