A Holy Mass for political prisoners in Belarus was held in Rome, bringing together worshippers and diplomats. The event was initiated by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and the Embassies of Lithuania and Poland to the Holy See, with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office represented by an official delegation headed by her Diplomatic Advisor, Dzianis Kuchynski. Representatives of the Belarusian diaspora also attended, including the Head of the Talaka Association of Belarusians in Italy, Yuliya Yukhno.
The Belarusian clergy was represented by Catholic priest Father Viachaslau Barok. A Belarusian choir performed during the Mass, adding both spiritual depth and a national sound to the prayer. Following the liturgy, a reception took place with the participation of diplomats and members of the Italian Parliament. The event served as an important gesture of international solidarity with all those facing persecution in Belarus.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office extends sincere gratitude to the Ambassadors of the Republic of Lithuania, Sigita Maslauskaitė-Mažylienė, and Poland, Adam Kwiatkowski, for their initiative, organization, and firm stance in supporting human rights and political prisoners in Belarus.
This event was not only a prayer but also a powerful international message that the world remembers political prisoners in Belarus and is ready to do everything it can for their swift release.
