During her working visit to Riga, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs.
At this meeting, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya raised the issues of visas, residence permits, as well as the legalization of Belarusians in Latvia. She conveyed all the requests of the Belarusian diaspora, as well as words of gratitude. In Latvia, Belarusians are treated very well, they can send their children to kindergartens, schools, and also count on Latvian language courses.
Edgars Rinkēvičs noted that while with regard to Russia there are different opinions, approaches and even disagreements about sanctions and policies, regarding Belarus there is almost always a single prevailing position among the EU countries.
