At the closing of the New Belarus Conference, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya addressed everyone who contributed to preparing and holding the event: participants, speakers, the organizing team, volunteers, media, the democratic forces, civil society, and international partners.
She offered special thanks to her Ukrainian allies who took part in the discussion on Ukraine, foreign guests and partners who supported the conference, and the teams responsible for the live stream, interpretation, technical support, security, and assistance.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya:
“We made this conference together with you. And all I can do now is say thank you.
Thank you to everyone who sent suggestions for topics and speakers, took part in the organizing committee, prepared draft resolutions, and organized side events.
Thank you to everyone who presented their projects, initiatives, and tools.
A special thank you to those who traveled from afar — and to those who paid for their own travel.
Thank you to our Ukrainian allies, especially Iaroslav Chornogor, Vadym Halaichuk, and Yevhen Mahda, who made the discussion on Ukraine substantive and answered all the questions.
Thank you to the Office, which took on the bulk of the organizational work. It is no easy task to organize an event of this scale with limited time and resources. And, I think you will agree, it turned out wonderfully!
Thank you to our colleagues from the United Transitional Cabinet, the Coordination Council, political parties, civil society, and the media.
And, of course, thank you to our international friends. We had 70 international guests registered, including 10 special envoys and ambassadors working on Belarus.
Thank you to all our international partners who supported the conference and helped make it happen.
Thank you to the media that covered the conference: Belsat, Belarus Tomorrow, Zerkalo, Nasha Niva, Euroradio, Pozirk, Reform.news, Radio Racyja, Polskie Radio, and many others.
A special thank you to Stsiapan and NEXTA for the excellent live stream.
Thank you to Try Slany for the interactive experience. And I especially want to mention the mysterious rhymester who entertained us in the chat with their creativity and jokes.
Thank you to the interpreters, sound technicians, security staff, and, of course, our volunteers.
Thank you to everyone who was with us.
There is a lot of work ahead. But I am confident that together, we will overcome every challenge.
Until we meet again!”
