Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “My heart goes out to all those affected and to their families. The children, as well as the adults who were with them, are innocent victims.
This war was started by Russia. Russia is the aggressor, and it bears primary responsibility for every death and every injury caused by this war. But those state officials who irresponsibly sent children through an active conflict zone are also to blame. This was not an ‘accident’ but a deliberate decision made by specific people in power who showed disregard for how these children would travel to their destination.
The regime’s state propaganda machine is also responsible. For years, it has concealed the truth about the war and the Lukashenka regime’s complicity in it, creating a false image of ‘peaceful skies’ and safety.
I urge you to protect yourselves and your loved ones. Do not put your lives at risk by traveling to Russia, which is waging a criminal and unjust war. Safety will come only when Russia ends this war”.
