  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha honored fallen heroes at Kyiv’s Wall of Remembrance

    May 25, 2026

In Kyiv, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, and Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya honored the memory of fallen heroes, including Belarusian volunteers, at the Wall of Remembrance.

As the Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya paid tribute to Belarusian and Ukrainian heroes who gave their lives for freedom and stressed that Ukraine is fighting not only for itself but for the shared future of the region:

“We bow our heads before everyone who stood up to defend their country, their people, and the shared values of freedom and dignity.

More than 80 Belarusians have already died in this war. We remember every one of them. Streets in a free Belarus will bear their names. They are defending not only Ukraine — they are defending the honor of the Belarusian people and fighting for our common freedom.

We also remember those who are currently held in Russian captivity. We remember those veterans and volunteers who lost their health, endured injuries, and went through severe trials. And it is our duty to support them and their families.

Ukraine today is an example of courage, resilience, and dignity for the entire region. And I would like to thank Minister Andrii Sybiha and Ukrainian diplomacy for their principled stance, determination, and loyalty to their country”.

Alongside Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the event was also attended by Pavel Latushka, Volha Zazulinskaya, and Valery Matskevich of the United Transitional Cabinet; Artsiom Brukhan of the Coordination Council; and Sviatlana Shatsilina of the Mission of Democratic Belarus in Ukraine.
