  • Discussion “Eastern Shield: How to Strengthen European Security from the United Kingdom to the Belarus–Baltic Line” in Tallinn

    On March 10, the Representation of Democratic Belarus in Estonia hosted a panel discussion titled “Eastern Shield: How to Strengthen European Security from the United Kingdom to the Belarus–Baltic Line”, organized by the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.

    The event featured:

    • Sir Liam Fox, former UK Secretary of State for Defense and Secretary of State for International Trade;
    • Jonatan Vseviov, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia;
    • Volodymyr Boiechko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Estonia;
    • Dzianis Kuchynski, Diplomatic Advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.

    The discussion was moderated by the Head of the Vilnius Office of Freedom House, Vytis Jurkonis.

    Before the panel, BelPol held briefings for the participants, informing them about the militarization of Belarus.

    The discussions addressed:

    • countering disinformation and the role of independent media;
    • cybersecurity and the activities of the Cyber Partisans;
    • sanctions and the role of investigative journalists;
    • lawlessness and accountability in the context of the war in Ukraine;
    • the potential role of Belarusian servicemen defending Ukraine (such as the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment) and BelPol.

    In addition, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Diplomatic Advisor, Dzianis Kuchynski, and Vitali Malchanau, who represents Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office in Estonia and Latvia, held a meeting with the Office of the Prime Minister of Estonia and took part in an event dedicated to the Day of the Restoration of Independence of Lithuania.
