    MUNICH SECURITY CONFERENCE

    From February 12–15, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya took part in the Munich Security Conference. She met with the Secretary General of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Benedetta Berti; the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, Boris Ruge; the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, Kajsa Ollongren; UK MP Tom Tugendhat; the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Macinka; and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk.

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya also participated in the discussion “Spotlight on Belarus”, the side event “Belarus on the CRINK Axis and Beyond”, a discussion with MSC Young Leaders, the side event “The New Public Square Is the Screen”, and a meeting of Women Political Leaders.

    MEETING WITH BELPOL 

    On February 10 in Warsaw, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with Matsvei Kupreichyk of BELPOL to synchronize work on key areas and coordinate joint projects.

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “BELPOL remains a truly important initiative for Belarusian society. It is essential to strengthen cooperation and align further steps so that the work of the Belarusian community abroad becomes even more effective and coordinated”.

    VISIT TO THE KNIHAUKA BOOKSTORE 

    On February 10, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya visited the Knihauka Belarusian bookstore in Warsaw and met with publisher Andrei Yanushkevich, whose publishing house prints books exclusively in Belarusian. They discussed how independent Belarusian publishing operates in exile, the challenges facing the Belarusian book sector, and the support needed to ensure that Belarusian-language books continue to be published and reach readers.

    VISIT TO THE MIKOLA RAVIENSKI BELARUSIAN SCHOOL OF ARTS

    On February 11, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya visited the Mikola Ravienski Belarusian School of Arts in Warsaw. Director Halina Kazimirouskaya gave Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya a tour, followed by a meeting with staff, parents, and students. They discussed how the school has grown significantly over the past four years, becoming popular and in high demand within the Belarusian community. They also addressed the need to expand the premises, as demand for classes continues to rise.

    LETTER WRITING EVENT FOR POLITICAL PRISONERS

    On February 11, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya attended a meeting of the “Napišy List Palitviazniu” (Write a Letter to a Political Prisoner) initiative and joined participants in signing postcards and writing letters to political prisoners in Belarus at the Belarusian Youth Hub in Warsaw.

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “I am deeply grateful to all Belarusians who come to these meetings and write letters to our political prisoners. It truly means a great deal to them. You do this every week, and I don’t think I will ever stop being amazed by the strength of our solidarity”.

    MEETING OF THE “FOR A DEMOCRATIC BELARUS” GROUP IN UKRAINE

    On February 11, a meeting of the “For a Democratic Belarus” Parliamentary Group took place in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Participants included Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor on Parliamentary Cooperation, Anatoli Liabedzka; the Head of the Mission of Democratic Belarus in Ukraine, Sviatlana Shatsilina; and the Director of the Russian and Belarusian Studies Program at the Ukrainian Prism Foreign Policy Council, Iaroslav Chornogor. Sviatlana Shatsilina presented the Mission of Democratic Belarus in Ukraine.

    MEETING WITH LITHUANIAN SEIMAS SPEAKER 

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor on Parliamentary Cooperation, Anatoli Liabedzka, held a meeting with the Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania, Juozas Olekas, and his advisors. They discussed cooperation between the Seimas of Lithuania, the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, and the democratic forces of Belarus.
