During her visit to Warsaw on January 14, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with volunteers who provide daily support to political prisoners from Belarus and their families.
About 40 people took part in the discussion, including representatives of the Volnyja, who assist former Belarusian political prisoners with adaptation and reintegration. The meeting was organized by Volnyja’s Coordinator Veranika Stankevich.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya expressed deep gratitude to the volunteers for their kindness, dedication, and humanity, and emphasized the importance of their work in maintaining support for those affected by repression.
During a Q&A session, participants shared experiences, discussed the current needs of recently released political prisoners (including the group released on December 13) and their families, addressed adaptation and reintegration challenges, and explored opportunities for further support.
