  • Second Women’s Political Leadership Academy took place in Prague

    November 28, 2025

The Second Women’s Political Leadership Academy was held in Prague, bringing together 10 participants, all of them former political prisoners. This initiative provides women who have experienced repression an opportunity to develop their potential and strengthen their leadership skills.

The Academy aims to prepare women for more active participation in politics, allowing them to represent the Belarusian democratic community at the national and international levels.

The program included theoretical sessions, practical modules, meetings with experts, as well as visits to the embassies of Germany and Norway.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “The Women’s Political Leadership Academy is an opportunity for women who have gone through repression to regain their strength and gain new knowledge and confidence to continue fighting for a free and democratic Belarus.

Dear participants, your knowledge, abilities, and, most importantly, your desire to work actively for change will be greatly needed.

I am confident that each of you will find your place in civil society organizations and within the structures of our democratic movement: in the representations of the democratic forces or in individual teams and projects in the fields of communication, analysis, or educational activities.

The most important thing is that you believe in yourselves and in the fact that all our efforts are needed by Belarusians – that you believe in our victory”.

The Academy is implemented by the Office of Belarus Democratic Forces in the Czech Republic, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office, and the Prague Regional Office of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung.
