    Political Declaration of the Democratic Forces of Belarus

    This declaration, adopted at the New Belarus Conference 2023, sets out a shared vision of an independent, democratic Belarus as a nation-state and a future member of the European Union. Its priorities include ending Belarus’s complicity in the war against Ukraine, securing the withdrawal of Russian troops and nuclear weapons, achieving the release of political prisoners, strengthening the international representation of the democratic forces, ensuring accountability for those responsible for crimes, and preparing reforms and future public servants.     This protocol establishes the framework for cooperation among the key institutions of the democratic movement, defines their respective responsibilities, and sets out common principles for working together to preserve Belarus’s independence and achieve a democratic transition. It provides for the coordination of strategic decisions, the joint development of policies, information sharing, and public accountability. The protocol also establishes mechanisms to prevent duplication of functions and resolve disagreements through dialogue, compromise, and internal procedures.
