Once the regime collapses, Belarusians will have a chance to establish democracy. How can they seize the opportunity, avoid legal chaos, and prevent attempts at revenge from the remnants of the dictatorship? This requires a premeditated plan.
This is why Belarusian political bodies, civil society organizations, and think-tanks in the fields of economics, politics, strategic communication, law, and international relations have developed and put up for public discussion the New Belarus Transition Strategy. It aims to ensure the transition of power and the establishment of a democratic government in Belarus, rendering the re-emergence of a dictatorship impossible.
The Strategy has sections regulating the conduct of democratic elections, restoration of constitutional order and legality, maintenance of international obligations, delivery of economic stability and development, restoration of civil society, and national revival.
Discussion of the New Belarus Transition Strategy is already underway. The Strategy is available in Belarusian and Russian. Questions, suggestions, and comments are accepted through the @AskOffice_Bot Telegram bot and the New Belarus platform.
