“I am so happy for each and every person who won freedom today. But our fight is not over — many others are still behind bars. We must remember: people are being forced out of Belarus, while everyone should have the right to choose — to stay or to leave.
These releases are the result of many people working together. I especially want to thank President Donald Trump and his team. His leadership and personal effort helped free political prisoners and saved lives. These humanitarian actions mean a lot to us, and we are deeply grateful.
I also thank the European Union for its principles and consistency, and all Belarusians and international friends who kept the issue of political prisoners alive and high on the agenda all these years”.
