Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the UN General Assembly President, Analena Baerbock, during the World Economic Forum. She thanked President Baerbock for all the support she had provided in her previous role as Germany’s Foreign Minister and expressed hope that her new position would allow her to draw more attention to humanitarian issues and human rights violations in Belarus.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya spoke about the release of political prisoners, the security situation, and the challenges faced by Belarusians. She highlighted the role of the United States and the EU in Belarus-related issues and expressed hope that they would remain on the UN agenda.

I deeply value her work, determination, engagement, and commitment to resolving even the most complex crises in the world. The UN General Assembly is an important platform for Belarus, and it is crucial that the issues that concern Belarusians are discussed there and receive solutions”.
