On March 13, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya held a meeting with the team of the Honest People NGO to discuss how to strengthen the information presence for audiences inside Belarus and how to coordinate joint projects.
The Honest People team spoke about their work and how their tasks and formats have evolved in recent years. Today, the initiative primarily focuses on audiences in Belarus and operates as a media organization.
The team also shared their experience with various projects, including short videos, analytical newsletters, and documentary materials. They emphasize content that explains how politics affects everyday life: why institutions fail to function, how propaganda operates, and what each individual loses as a result.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya and the Honest People team also discussed:
- possible simple explanatory formats that help people understand international developments and decisions and distinguish facts from manipulation;
- opportunities to coordinate communication initiatives and develop joint educational products;
- ways to involve the diaspora more systematically in supporting projects focused on Belarus, including events and initiatives dedicated to Freedom Day and the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus.
Participants in the meeting included NGO’s Chair Alena Zhyvahlod, managers Tsimafei Malakhouski and Zaryna Sarokina, Head of Production and director Aleh Davydchyk, and others.
