During the UN General Assembly, the Belarusian leader met with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, to discuss the situation of political prisoners in Belarus, including those kept incommunicado. She also raised the issue of support for independent media and civil society.
The parties also discussed:
📎 Restrictions on Belarusian-registered vehicles entering EU countries;
📎 Visa issuance, with a specific proposal for EU countries to make visas free for Belarusian youth under 25;
📎 Preparations for the EU–Belarus Consultative Group meeting;
📎 Belarus Days in Brussels in December.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya awarded Mr. Borrell with the United Transitional Cabinet’s Cross of Good Neighbourhood as a sign of gratitude for his solidarity and support for democratic Belarus.
