  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with G7 ambassadors and experts in Washington

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya began her visit to Washington by meeting with the ambassadors and diplomats of the G7 countries. Representatives of the expert community also attended the meeting. The Belarusian leader emphasized the importance of international support for Belarus and called for continued pressure on the Lukashenka regime to release political prisoners and hold free elections.

    During the meeting, the parties discussed:

    📌 Organizing a major US campaign for the release of political prisoners in Belarus, including a public letter to the UN Secretary-General from Congress members and senators.

    📌 Expanding scholarships for Belarusian students and opportunities for them to study in the USA and other countries.

    📌 Measures to increase sanctions pressure on the regime and increase financial assistance to democratic Belarus.

    📌 Identifying and freezing Lukashenka’s assets in other countries, including the United Arab Emirates.

    📌 The regime’s role and responsibility in Russia’s war against Ukraine, and cooperation between the Russian and Belarusian military.

    📌 Lukashenka’s cooperation with Iran, China, and other authoritarian regimes, and the implications of this cooperation.

    During her visit to the USA, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is expected to participate in the NATO Summit and events of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.
