Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “The regime decided to go beyond deceiving adults – it is now trying to get into the minds of our children. Yesterday, I saw pictures of how elementary schools took their students to polling stations to involve them in the “social and political life of the country”. The regime’s officials keep saying that children must stay outside of politics, but do they practice what they preach? You all see it yourselves.
I appeal to every parent: please, protect your children from propaganda. Do not let them attend the regime’s events. After all, they are only learning to think critically – and every adult is an authority for them. Do not allow the regime to exploit this!
Dear Belarusians, I want to reiterate my stance on the regime’s sham election. What is happening in the country now cannot be called an election. It’s a political farce and imitation. Therefore, I urge you to ignore this campaign and never go to the polling stations. If you are forced to vote, vote against all candidates. And on February 25, stay home and watch the marathon “I Choose New Belarus” on YouTube.
I am convinced that the time will come when our active participation will make a real impact. But now, you should spend time wisely for yourself and your children, not for the regime”.
