Today, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya commenced her working visit to Poland with a meeting with the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski. During the meeting she was accompanied by representatives of the United Transitional Cabinet, Pavel Latushka, Valery Kavaleuski, and Alina Koushyk.
The Belarusian leader proposed to Mr. Trzaskowski a joint information campaign in support of Andrzej Poczobut and Belarusian political prisoners to attract international attention to the issue. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also asked Warsaw to extend the program of housing support for repressed Belarusian families.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya proposed allocating premises for Belarusian organizations and initiatives in Warsaw to allow them to continue and expand their activities. Additionally, she asked for internships for Belarusians in municipal institutions and a scholarship program for Belarusian cultural figures in Warsaw, similar to initiatives already launched in other cities in Poland.
At the end of the meeting, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya invited Rafał Trzaskowski to join the Day of Solidarity with Belarus on March 25.
