On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the Belarusian leader thanked all Belarusians who support people around them honestly and from the bottom of their hearts. Not only their loved ones and friends, but also people they do not know personally.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “I am happy to see that Belarusian solidarity did not end in 2020. It is still felt in every corner of the world where Belarusians are.
Today I want to thank all volunteers who help political prisoners and their families by sending letters, collecting donations, and providing financial support. All activists of the diaspora, whose initiatives unite Belarusians around the world and help them stay in touch with their homeland. All the Belarusian volunteer soldiers who risk their lives every day to defend Ukraine and liberate Belarus. And of course, I must mention the volunteers inside Belarus. People who, despite pressure and risks, share truthful information and gather evidence of the regime’s crimes. Thank you very much, I am proud of each and every one of you!
Dear volunteers, you are a shining example of the solidarity that everyone talks about. You embody the Belarusian solidarity. Only together can we build a new Belarus, where initiative and mutual assistance are welcomed and encouraged, and everyone feels responsible for their country and makes it better”.
