  • Supporting political prisoners and collecting evidence of the regime’s crimes: Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with DIGNITY in Denmark

    September 01, 2025

On August 29, during her visit to Copenhagen, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with representatives of DIGNITY, which plays a leading role in the International Accountability Platform for Belarus (IAPB).

Ms. Tsikhanouskaya thanked the IAPB for gathering evidence of Lukashenka’s crimes, emphasizing its importance for the future, when people are released and will need comprehensive support. She also called for assisting Belarusian human rights organizations and collecting testimonies from those released from prisons.

The discussion also focused on supporting victims of repression through other organizations – Viasna and the International Humanitarian Fund – and on ways to make this support more effective. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya further highlighted the need to raise and strengthen the Belarusian case in international bodies, as repression in the country continues to intensify.

The International Accountability Platform for Belarus (IAPB) is a coalition of independent organizations that joined forces to collect, consolidate, verify, and preserve evidence of gross human rights violations – which may amount to crimes against humanity – committed by the regime in Belarus and other actors before and after the 2020 presidential election.
