“Like hundreds of thousands of Belarusians, I know how difficult it is to adapt to life in a foreign country. How painful it is to spend every day without the chance to embrace loved ones or return home.
I often dream of Belarus. Sometimes these dreams are nightmares, as they are for many Belarusians, tied to persecution, prison, and torture. But they are also the only way to see the places I hold dear to my heart: my village, my grandmother, the hall where Siarhei and I met. Those are the moments I don’t want to wake up. But when I do, I see my children, and I remember why we are fighting. We fight for our freedom, our children’s future, and the Belarus we love.
I would like to give my support to all those who have lost their homeland because of repression and their fight against dictatorship. Life in exile can be lonely, but… We have each other. My favorite moments in exile are when I get to see you, hug you, and share kind words.
We take small steps together every day to reclaim Belarus and come back home. I am certain we will see crowds at the border one day and celebrate our return to the homeland”.
