“A tragedy happened yesterday. It is caused by the fact that Belarusians are being imprisoned, tortured, and persecuted without fair trial for their political position. The legislation is not protecting people anymore, and Belarusians are forced to defend themselves.
The power is held with violence in Belarus, and it creates a confrontation between people that would have never seen each other as enemies. It also led to the situation when the truth about this tragedy is hidden from us, and people don't believe "official" statements.
I express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones. The death of any person is a big loss. Belarusians should not be victims of the unwillingness of one person to accept reality and step down. Children should not lose their fathers, mothers should not lose their children. It is crucial to stop the violence in Belarus, restore the rule of law, release and rehabilitate all political prisoners, start dialogue within the country. Otherwise, every day of delay is a risk of new innocent victims”.
