Belarusian business took the plunge and supported the protest and strike of Belarusians. For this, the regime began a wave of repressions against entrepreneurs. For far-fetched reasons, several hundred catering, trade, and service establishments have been closed throughout the country. The investments of entrepreneurs, the well-being of employees, thousands of whom have already lost their jobs, and their families are under threat. The office of Sviatlana Tsikhanovskaya considers such actions of the illegitimate government to be politically motivated pressure and states that:
1. All politically motivated orders, instructions and other decisions of officials with respect to businesses participating in the strike are invalid. All fines paid are subject to refund. Besides, after the restoration of legality in the country, business owners will be able to count on fair compensation for losses incurred in connection with the ban on economic activities.
2. Officials, workers of the sanitary-epidemiological service, the Ministry for Emergency Situations and other organizations and departments who issued politically motivated orders will be held accountable. They will also be subject to recourse actions to cover losses incurred due to the execution of such orders.
3. In cases where political repressions were used for the raider seizure of businesses or assets by businesspeople close to the government, all income received from doing business will be collected in favor of the State.
