July 1-4, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will visit Iceland at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland Gudlaugur Thor Thordarson. In addition to the head of the MFA, Tsikhanouskaya will hold meetings with Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir, Speaker of the Althing Steingrimur Sigfusson and Rector of the University of Iceland Jon Benediktsson.
Icelanders actively support Belarus in the International arena – Iceland has become one of the 17 OSCE countries that have launched the “Moscow Mechanism” on the situation in Belarus.
This is the second visit of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to non-EU country – the first was Switzerland.
