On January 11-12, an expert seminar on the topic “Future of election regulation in Belarus” will be held with simultaneous translation into Belarusian, Russian and English. Expert discussions were organized by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya‘s Special Representative for Elections, Alexander Shlyk, with the support and participation of IFES, International IDEA and DRI.
On January 11, at 16:00 in Minsk (15:00 in Vilnius and Kiev, 14:00 in Warsaw), a two-day seminar will begin, at which Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Alexander Shlyk will make an introductory speech.
The event will begin with a discussion of the unified strategy of the democratic forces of Belarus concerning the “referendum” planned for 2022. During the subsequent thematic discussions, the provisions on elections included in the draft People’s Constitution will be touched upon, as well as specific thematic aspects within the framework of the concept of the new Electoral Code.
