    July 04, 2022

Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus' regime.

Here is an overview of the Movement for the week of June 27 – July 3.

    Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians

    • The BYSOL Foundation sent protection and equipment kits for the air reconnaissance team of Belarusian volunteers who are trained as part of the Prague Support Team initiative.
    • In Ukrainian city Khmelnytskyi, Pushkin Street was renamed after Aliaksei Skoblia, a Belarusian volunteer with the nom de guerre “Tur”, who served in the Kastus Kalinouski regiment and died in the battles near Kyiv.
    • The initiative group Support Ukrainian Women, which includes GIRLS POWER BELARUS, BYSOL, #BMSF and the community of Belarusian female activists, transferred part of the money from the fundraising to the Ukrainian organization Community Self-Help. And they, with the support of #Fondation_Aid, delivered medication to the Buchansk Center of Primary Health Care.
    • Prague Support Team sent to the regiment Pahonia an urgent package of medical materials, including decompression needles, medical scissors, high-quality Czech HemCon ChitoGauze hemostatics, burn compresses and others.
    • The Belarusian representative of Czech Republic and the representative of the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya for communication with the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic Krystsina Shienak told about student visas in the Czech Republic and what Belarusian students should do in the country.
    • Belarusian Karyna Patsemkina from Salihorsk received in Bucha a note of appreciation for her volunteer work.
    • Aliaksandra Herasimenia organized a delivery to Ukraine in cooperation with the DAR Humanitarian Aid Center.
    • Belarusians from Krakow, Riga, Torun and Bydgoszcz held demonstrations in support of Ukrainians, Belarusians and political prisoners.

    Resistance

    • In Chyzhouka Minsk region a pedophile hunts children, but the police are busy with other things – such as shooting teenagers in Cascade Residential Complex. Chyzhouka residents came out to picket to tell about this and warn children.
    • “Don't be silent about the war”. Minsk residents held a demonstration at the monument to Taras Shauchenka in Minsk.
    • Belarusians of Barauliany came out for a picket against the regime.
    • Partisans of Davyd-Haradok said hello to all Belarusians.

    Sabotage

    • BYPOL released a new investigation about propagandists: it describes how they incite hatred, denigrate national hatred and culture, and includes wiretaps of their conversations.

    Awareness campaign

    • A soldier of the Kalinouski regiment addressed the Ukrainians: “The volunteer will leave and our guys will not get night vision equipment. The Russians will come at night and slaughter like blind kittens. Posts of hatred towards Belarusians are work for the enemy’s benefit”.
    • The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus presented her annual report: “The country has plunged into an atmosphere of impunity and fear”.
    • About the quarrels between Belarusians and Ukrainians: volunteer Siarhei Bespalau explains why they only benefit propaganda and the Kremlin, how Belarusians are actually fighting for Ukraine's freedom, what threatens them in Belarus for that and how these quarrels will eventually end.
    • A new issue of the local newspaper 7 Chizhei is out: it tells about support demonstrations, news of the Anti-War Movement, etc.
    • There is also a new issue of underground leaflet Word of Belarusians: it tells about the ex-head of GUBOPiK who shot a teenager, a day with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and how journalists saw her, what is going on in Belarusian culture, etc.
