Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Nancy Pelosi discussed the need for stable support of Belarus, namely the support of the civilian society and independent media, in particular Radio Svaboda, which is funded by the US Congress.

Pelosi accepted an invitation to speak at the Kalinovski Forum in Washington on March 23rd and agreed to facilitate hearings in the US Congress on Lukashenko's role in the ongoing war. She also offered to support Belarus' efforts to defend independence and the transition of Belarus to a democratic state.
Tsikhanouskaya and Pelosi also discussed the hybrid occupation policy of Russia and the Lukashenka regime. According to Pelosi, the US won't allow Belarus to be swallowed up by Russia and will make sure to prioritize the problems of Belarus. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya responded: “At the moment, Belarusians truly need your support to preserve statehood”.
