As part of the visit to Ukraine, the democratic forces delegation, including Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s representatives Valery Kavaleuski and Anatoli Liabedzka, the National Anti-Crisis Management representative Valery Matskevich, and BYPOL head Aliaksandr Azarau, met with Belarusian volunteers at the Belarusian Information Center in Lviv.
Belarusians told about their efforts to help Ukraine, the Ukrainian army, and the people. They provide free housing to refugees, collect and deliver humanitarian aid, and support Ukraine in the information war.
Here is what volunteers and the delegation discussed at the meeting:
– As the Polish consulate was evacuating from Lviv, the diplomats took all the documents, including the passports of those Belarusians who applied for visas.
– A lot of Belarusians want to come to Ukraine to volunteer, assist Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Ukrainian doctors, or join the Kastus Kalinouski battalion. However, they cannot do that because of the entry ban. Belarusians want to be able to enter Ukraine and help.
– Belarusians of Lviv proposed to render systemic support for the diaspora to facilitate targeted assistance for Belarusians and Ukrainians from the foundations and initiatives.
