On November 4-5, Lviv hosted the second Astrozski Belarus-Ukraine Forum, which discussed various formats of cooperation between the countries. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office, the United Transitional Cabinet, the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment, as well as political experts represented Belarus.
During the meeting, the Belarusian side joined Ukrainian politicians and MPs to seek solutions to the problems faced by Belarusians in Ukraine. As a result, an agreement was reached on hearings on Belarus, which will take place at the inter-committee session of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committees. In addition, preparations are underway to launch joint projects on legal expertise and appoint a Special Representative for Belarus in the Verkhovna Rada.
“It is the second forum of this kind that Lviv hosts. This indicates an interest in a Belarus-Ukraine platform. These two days of work saw many interesting proposals from the participants”, noted Anatoli Liabedzka, Advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya on the Constitutional Reform and Interparliamentary Cooperation.
