Freedom Postcards launched their Advent Calendar in support of political prisoners. Until December 25, the initiative invites you to do simple tasks, like writing a letter to a political prisoner, sharing poems from behind bars, or just listening to music created by imprisoned Belarusians.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Children love Christmas activities. For example, my daughter always asks me to buy her an advent calendar with candies and chocolates. She wants to open a new window every day and enjoy new treats. She is always curious about what she will find in the calendar next. It is curiosity about everything new and unknown that can help involve your children in good deeds.
I told Ahniya about the Freedom Postcards Advent Calendar. And today, we tried together to complete one of these tasks – make an origami tulip. It did not take us much time – we easily found the instructions on the internet. Ahniya did origami for the first time, and she really liked it. I was happy to spend time with my daughter and show an example that doing good deeds is not difficult at all.
Dear friends, join the month of solidarity with Freedom Postcards and complete the Calendar tasks! It is a simple way to show solidarity with political prisoners and, at the same time, a good way to spend time with children, friends, and loved ones”.
