  • Results of the Belarusian Anti-War Movement for May 23

    Any Belarusian can join the Movement and choose from numerous options to resist the war and Belarus' regime.  

    Here is an overview of the Movement on May 23. 

    Support for Ukrainians and Belarusians

    • Belarusians from the Litvin detachment in Odessa received a jeep from BYSOL, the funds collected by Belarusians. In addition, ammunition and equipment were sent to them by the Prague Support Team, the Belarusians of Batumi, and the Association of the Belarusians of America.
    • Belarusians from Gdansk, Sopot, and Gdynia held a rally to support Belarusian political prisoners.
    • Belarusians in France and Ukrainians held a rally against the Russian aggression.
    • In London, the Belarusians came out on the meeting in support of Ukraine.
    • Sviatlana Tsikhanovskaya, Tatsiana Khomich, and Veronika Tsepkalo spoke together at the Oslo Freedom Forum. They told about two years of Belarus' struggle for freedom and urged the forum guests to support the Belarusians.
    • The BYSOL Foundation has processed over 10,000 hotline requests since the beginning of the war.

    Resistance

    • Partisans in Gomel hung out the national flag.
    • Residents of Volkovysk put up banners in support of Mikalai Autukhovich. He is tried in the prison of Hrodna.
    • Minsk partisans continue protesting against the war.

    Sabotage

    • The Hajun project, which monitors the movements of Russian troops in Belarus, released an operational summary on May 22
    • Also, Hajun published a review of the main events of Belarusian propaganda about the war in Ukraine on May 22: Lukashenka said that Polish President Andrzej Duda “practically decides nothing in Poland” and told about alleged “plans of NATO and Poland to take Western Ukraine.” Belarusian state TV broadcasted a story about the “surrender of the 'neo-Nazis' from the catacombs of Azovstal”.

    • Belarusians distribute leaflets all over the country.
