Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya travels to Brussels and Luxembourg, where she will address the EU Foreign Affairs Council at the invitation of High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.
During the meeting, lists of names and companies that were included in the 4th EU sanctions package will be published. Sectoral sanctions against Lukashenka's regime will also be discussed.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will address all EU Foreign Ministers during the discussion. A similar meeting had already taken place on 21 September 2020, as a result of which the EU adopted a position on Lukashenka's regime, sanctions, and a civil society support package.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also planned a series of bilateral meetings with EU representatives to discuss assistance to media, repressed Belarusians, and human rights defenders. In addition, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will meet with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel.
