Today, as part of the 54th session of the UN Human Rights Council, the report by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on the situation in Belarus will be heard. The report was initially published in the spring, and today its updated version will be presented. Kristina Rikhter, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor on Legal Affairs, is attending the hearing.
“Such hearings have been held almost every session of the Human Rights Council since 2020. For Belarusians, this means that the international community and the UN itself remain concerned about the regime’s human rights violations”, said Ms. Rikhter.
