The New Belarus Conference 2024 will take place in Vilnius on August 3-4. Eight panels will feature experts and activists who will share their opinions and suggestions regarding the country’s future. Here’s an introduction to the speakers who have confirmed their participation:

📌 How to defend Belarus’ independence and counter the “2025 election”? Hear answers from Franak Viacorka (Chief Advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya) and Pavel Latushka (Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management).

📌 How to prevent a new Iron Curtain? Listen to a discussion between Vladzimir Astapenka (Head of the Mission for Democratic Belarus in Brussels) and Artur Michalski (Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland for cooperation with the democratic forces of Belarus).

📌 Belarus’ economy in 2025. Volha Loika (journalist and economic observer) and Lev Lvovsky (Academic Director at BEROC) will discuss Belarusians’ concerns.

📌 Belarusian identity in 2025. Speakers include Alina Koushyk (Representative for National Revival in the United Transitional Cabinet) and Henadz Korshunau (Senior Researcher at the Center for New Ideas).

📌 Belarusian volunteer fighters and veterans. Ihor Kyzym (Ambassador-at-Large of Ukraine for Belarus) will outline steps to address the issues they face.

📌 What can we do for political prisoners in 2025? Comprehensive assistance programs will be developed during the panel. Speakers will include Volha Zazulinskaya (Head of A Country to Live in Foundation) and Leanid Sudalenka (representative of the Viasna HRC, human rights defender).

📌 Andrei Stryzhak (Head of the BYSOL Foundation) and Siarhei Drazdouski (Chairman of the Office for the Rights of People with Disabilities) will discuss whether the democratic forces can support vulnerable groups in exile.

📌 The question of what the 3rd Coordination Council can do for Belarus in 2025 will be answered by faction representatives, who will share their plans for the development of the Coordination Council.

The conference is an excellent opportunity to join our collective effort and become part of the discussion about a free and democratic Belarus!
