The United Transitional Cabinet Deputy Head, Valery Kavaleuski, addressed the Belarusian people on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity with Political Prisoners in Belarus:
“One of my priorities in Washington is to communicate the situation in Belarus and mobilize international efforts to prevent Lukashenka from 'turning over the page' and normalizing what is happening in our country today.
We need to continue working with international organizations, national governments, and civil society to secure greater support for political prisoners, step up pressure on the regime, and achieve faster release of our loved ones.
But much more depends on the Belarusian people themselves. We must keep writing letters, demanding statements and resolutions, and telling the international community about the situation in Belarus. We must be political prisoners’ voice both in Belarus and internationally”.
