  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the heads of OSCE missions

    Today, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with Ambassadors of missions of Germany, France, Great Britain, United States, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Czech Republic, and Poland to OSCE. All of them supported the Moscow Mechanism.

    During the meeting, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya:

    – spoke about the situation with  political prisoners in Belarus and the inhumane conditions of detention and imprisonment – she shared stories of Mikalai Kazlou and other prisoners about tortures;
    – summed up the results of the voting on the online platform “Golos”: more than 770 thousand Belarusians voted for negotiations with international mediation;
    – thanked the OSCE missions for their quick reaction to the initiative on negotiations and support for the call for dialogue;
    – spoke about the work of the Situation Analysis Centre, which works on the security of peaceful protests in Belarus;
    – discussed possible formats of international mediation and which countries could be intermediaries in resolving the crisis;
    – discussed the draft Constitution of Anatoli Liabedzka, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya’s representative on the constitutional reform, and the constitutional proposals of the Lukashenka regime;
    – asked to support for the OSCE ODIHR proposal on courts monitoring. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya stated that independent experts should be present at  trials to avoid lawlessness;
    – presented to Ambassadors a proposal for negotiating formats published by her team. She also discussed the modalities of participation of the OSCE structures in the organization of dialogue between the regime and the people.

    “It is the OSCE that can help resolve the crisis in Belarus peacefully. Our country is a member of this organization, and the OSCE has enough experience and political will to resolve the crisis in Belarus”, – noted Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
