  • Belarusian medics will be able to use the simplified procedure for obtaining work permits in Poland

    July 05, 2022

On July 5, during the working visit to Poland, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya had a working meeting with Polish Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Belarusian Medical Solidarity Foundation, who presented a list of problematic issues faced by Belarusian medics in Poland.

The matter is that doctors in any country have to undergo a complicated procedure of nostrification of diplomas, confirmation of education, qualifications and experience. This process is complicated for Belarusian medics by the inability to obtain a number of documents from the Belarusian state bodies (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) or institutions (universities).

The Minister informed Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya that 795 medics from Belarus had already received work permits in Poland.

Minister Adam Niedzielski and the Belarusian leader agreed that in the coming weeks, the Ministry will present a simplified procedure for obtaining work permits for Belarusian doctors. The Ministry of Health of Poland will not require an apostille. The Minister also assured Ms. Tsikhanouskaya that the Ministry is interested in creating good conditions for the work of Belarusian medics.

The Medical Solidarity Foundation will publish the updates when they become available.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya noted that it is very important for Belarusian medics not to lose their practical skills. They should be able to grow professionally and, after the changes, come back and continue working in the new Belarus.
