Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Mass arrests of psychotherapists have occurred throughout Belarus. In Homiel, security forces have visited at least 30 Belarusians for following the 'wrong' channels on social media. And the police keep arresting people as soon as they cross the border.
While these repressions only intensify instead of stopping, there’s a so-called “commission for the return” that continues its work. Representatives of the regime visit relatives of Belarusians who have moved to other countries for their own safety, urging them to influence their loved ones and ask them to return home.
But the regime doesn't need people. It needs taxpayers who will obediently support officials, security forces, and the entire huge repressive apparatus. It doesn’t need people themselves – with their thoughts, dreams, proposals, and attempts to improve life in the country.
Don't trust the propaganda that calls for returning home. Talk to your family and loved ones and tell them the truth. We will all definitely return home, but only when the repressions stop and true, fair law is established”.
