A Belarusian delegation has been taking part in the Baltic Assembly events in Tallinn these days. Anatoli Liabedzka, Advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya for Interparliamentary Cooperation, spoke on the outcomes of the talks:
“A group For Democratic Belarus will be established in the Estonian Parliament. We spoke with representatives of four factions, which all turned out to have similar views on the situation in Belarus. We also talked with Latvian MPs. We have already taken certain steps to revive the group For Democratic Belarus in the Parliament of this country. And we will definitely see the results.”
Mr. Liabedzka also emphasized the importance of having partners representing Belarusian interests in foreign Parliaments. Such groups have already been established in 17 countries.
