  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya arrived in Prague with an official visit

    Today, at the invitation of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya arrived in Prague. She will be received by President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman and by Prime Minister Andrej Babis. She will also have a meeting with Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhanek and will address the Czech Senate. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya will also meet with Belarusians who have become victims of torture and violence done by the regime and are undergoing rehabilitation in the Czech Republic.

    During the visit, joint meetings are planned with the ambassadors of Canada, Mexico, Lithuania, South Africa, Estonia, USA, Romania, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, and other states that support the people of Belarus.

    Ms. Tsikhanouskaya plans to discuss the situation with Raman Pratasevich, support for the Belarusian media and human rights defenders, sanctions against accomplices of the regime, scholarship programs for students, rehabilitation programs for victims of the regime.

    Ms. Tikhanovskaya: “From the very beginning, the Czech Republic actively supported Belarus and Belarusians in our struggle for freedom. This country was the first to receive the victims and stood up for us in the international arena. Belarusians see and feel all of this. I am going to Prague to express my gratitude and find solutions to how the Czech Republic can help us, Belarusians, stop the violence, free political prisoners, and come to a new presidential election in Belarus”.
