At the meeting with the Vice-President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Values and Transparency Vera Yurova, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya discussed the regime’s abuse of Interpol and Europol to persecute Belarusians. Belarusians, who have fled abroad in view of repressions, get detained while crossing the borders at the request of the authorities.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya stressed the importance of challenging every request of Lukashenka's repressive structures, as they abuse international mechanisms for reprisals against opponents.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya told Yurova about the opening of the Mission For Democratic Belarus in Brussels and the support in obtaining legal status for Belarusians who have fled Belarus and can't restore their documents.
