    January 31, 2022

    At the meeting with the Prime Minister, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya:

    – thanked the Lithuanian government for its firm position on the regime and support for Belarusians. From February 1, Lithuania stops transit of Belarusian potash, which should affect the regime's “wallets”;

    – emphasized the need to continue economic pressure on the regime amidst ongoing repression within the country;

    – discussed with the Prime Minister the common position of the Belarusian democratic forces on the regime’s illegal “referendum” scheduled for February 27;

    – handed over a package of proposals to support the Belarusian diaspora in Lithuania, as well as relocated Belarusians, in the issues of visa and residence requirements, documents, employment, psychological and medical assistance, as well as cultural projects. It is also important to provide visa assistance to relocated Belarusian who, in case of potential military threat, may decide to leave Ukraine.

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya invited Ingrida Šimonytė to take part in the Belarusian Business Forum in Vilnius on February 22-23.
